Week 11


    This week, I and my group mates still continued working on the Webpage. However, according to this week, my lecturer also included more lessons- week 7th lesson- to show the students. Basically, the lesson was about......... It was a bit different from the other lesson which let me understand clearer about the technology. He guided me about the processes and some important information.
    Webpage task was the best activity which got me one special skill on designing webpage to display all the activities and new information based what we have done in the class. Working in the group brought me the responsibility and duty among them. Each of us divided the parts of the work to extract more ideas so that we could post them to be our important resource in our webpage. Each part of the whole webpage, we got the first page as the home page, second, third, fourth, and last page consequently as the information about our university, educational system, class, lecturers, and students. Accordingly, our work was on the progress and we were trying to get more information for posting.

Week 10


            As we know that lecture week 10 ,11, and 12 had finished since in week 9, so for this week, there is nothing beside group assignment on Designing website in Google Site. Students were asked to form a group of 3 to 4 people in order to work on this assignment. This project was regarding to the information of the class, the activities that we have done in the class, and the new understanding and reflection after participating from the class. Moreover, we had to show a unique picture which completely showed the interaction between students and lecturer in the class. This was my pleasure of having a chance to work with my classmates in order to get succeed because it was such a valuable knowledge which we would be able to use in the future. Even it was not so professional like the others, but it was useful and acceptable to work things out. We started with the introduction of  the members in our group and some information about our interesting class. Spending more than two hours in the lab of the library, my group found out that there were so many things that we needed to include in this website in order to show our activities in the class. However, we'll try our best to reach our goal.

Week 9

 
        Going through to every week of the lecture, my understanding had been added to a higher level. For this week, it was a noticeable week which was different from before. In fact, for this week, we were supposed to continue the lecture week 7, but my lecture has skipped the lessons of week 7, 8, and 9 and completely jumped up to lesson week 10. Everything had its own reason when something happened, for this week, it was because it was the ninth week which soon reached the end of the second trimester, so he wanted to bring the last two weeks for students to do the last group assignment. According to what we have learned with him in this week, it was different from the previous week because he had guided us all the lectures on week 10,11, and 12. Even there were so many things to be understood, my lecturer ushered me only the main points of each lesson in order to make easy for students to understand.
     Basically, the tenth lesson was about Trends in the Internet and WWW. The question which was able to provoke me to recognize was What is the difference between Internet and World Wide Web? not only this question, some detail which extremely described this lesson is Analyzing Web 2.0, classification of web 2.0 site, and Comparison between Web 2.0 and 1.0. Beside these Webs, Web 3.0 was also included in this week for students to recognize and understand more.
     For the next lesson, it was about Developing Simple Applications for managing Information and other resource using available tools. For this lecture, Web 1.0, Web 2.0, and Web 3.0 had been recapped to provide more details about Internet. Additionally, Web Applications and Web Information System had been added to exaggerate the concepts of this lesson. Web Applications was shown to give the details of detail classification of each Web whereby Web Information System told the concepts of WWW.


    For the last lesson, it was the same as the previous lesson, but  interesting points have been pointed out to make thing clear. There were about Google Applications, and How to design Website.
    What an amazing lesson...!!! this is what I've been thinking because I really want to know how to design my own website. I'll try my best to do that.

Week 8


     Hi everyone... !! this was the eighth week of my participation in the class. We started class as usual, but since a few weeks, we have changed the class to the lab of the library in order to get convenient when students wanted to improve their study on searching information. For this week, I and the other students were asked to form a group of 3 in terms of doing some searching on certain topic. My group was conducting on Methodology and some categories of it. Actually, I did not understand at all about this lesson, but when I did research with my group mates, I got some clear information which was shown by my friends. Basically, Methodology is a collection of Tools, Procedure, and Documentation Aids which help the system developers to implement a new information system. As we went through to the classifications of the Methodology, we could see that there were such a number of them which were very useful. However, the most common and important one are Gane and Sarson (STRADIS), Information Engineering (IE), Jackson System Development, Prototyping/Iterative Approach, and Structured Approach. My group was supposed to conducts on these components in order to clarify the meaning and concepts which would be used in the future.
     STRADIS is based on the building of a logical model system, using graphical to enable users, analysts, designers to get a clear and common picture of the system and how its parts fit together to meet user's meet. IE is an approach to designing and developing information system as well as an architectural approach to planning, analyzing, designing, and implementing applications within an enterprise. JSD is a method of  system development that covers software life cycle either directly, or by providing a framework into which more specialized techniques can fit. Prototyping/Iterative Approach is a program used to show proof of concept to senior management, to validate system specifications, and to explore solutions to specific usability and design problems. Last but not least, SA is the process of developing system or software to meet certain requirements.
    Even my group had found some of these definitions and concepts to make thing clear in this lesson, my lecturer said for the level of my learning now, I as well as the other students did not have to clarify the processes or the method for using of these Systems because it is totally complex for me to understand. Moreover, he said that being in this levels and understanding the classifications of Methodology is adequate for me to analyze.

Week 7


     Salam everyone.. !
     After mid-term break has been over, this is the seventh week, on 2nd March, which students were struggling to run the project seriously. Anyway, for this week, students tended to be desperate than the other days because  there was a mid-term test of ICT of this second trimester. About this test, actually, it was a bit tough for students to understand but it was understandable for me to do it also. The test was about from lesson in Week 1 to Week 5 which totally were about data and information, Information System, and the other useful types of system network being used in the particular department. I could realize that I was able to catch up the lessons, understand the concepts, as well as do that test accordingly. Specifically, the determination of the test was to remind the things which have been learned since the first week of the trimester. Until now, the outcomes of my ICT learning is fully satisfied when doing the test even I'm not perfect or the best one about ICT; however, I'm glad to accept and acknowledge my ability on that.
    
     Besides the most significant test for the life of learning ICT, this week was also the week of submission Group Project. As I have mentioned from the previous week, this project consisted of 3 students getting involved. The aim of this assignment was to report the Background, Systems, and Staffs who are in charge of IT Department in a specific company, being as a manager of that company. A long with the progress, we have been doing research as well as choose Hotel as a particular company. Moreover, we have identified the Systems being used in our Hotel such as Hardware, Software, Communication Technology, Staffs, and the Costs of the IT Infrastructure as well. Our work was successful, and, to me, it was such an amazing activity which let me coherently recognize that this project was very crucial for me to identified the systems being used in the company so that in the future, I'll be strongly able to organize the IT Systems in my business company.

week 6


        Salam everyone..!!  this was the end week, 24th of February, of the mid-term of the second trimester which I've been participating in the class. From this week, it was not so different from the previous week, and I have learned more details about the Information System. Actually, in the fifth week, I also learned about IS, but for this week my lecturer has included more exercise and questions for me to answer as well as to identify how much I have understood the lesson. It was like the mock test which comprised nearly 30 questions to be searched. I, also, was a little bit confused on the questions because some of the questions were quite similar to each other to analyse. Those questions were mostly about IT Architecture, IT Infrastructure, IS, and the other components of IS.
     I found that I had highly understood about all the lessons that i have learned from the class even some questions were not completed. Trying to learn and identify the meaning and concepts of ICT lets me realize that it is very crucial for not only me but also the other students to coherently enhance the understanding on learning ICT because each lesson consists of its own sequences to display and apply on a certain field of one particular subject. For instance, about the mock test which was done, I can recognize that they are very useful to apply on daily lives, especially Business field. To justify my point of view, let's have a look on the main concept of the lesson of week 5, it is about the Application software which is used by the Top manger ( ESS ), medium manger ( DIS, MIS ), and Ordinary people ( TPS ). Therefore, it is interrelated between these materials to how the processes of business company run their business by using these systems. In order to get success and perceive the goal as the business woman, ICT plays as an important role to supply on the steps the I've been walking through.

Week 5


        Salam Everyone.. this was my fifth week, on 17th of February, being participated in ICT course in AIU. After the fourth week, on which I was doing my essay about the Information System in the library, I pursued, for this week, being instructed by lecturer about the types of IS and classified the detail components. Basically, we started from the categories of IS which are TPS (Transaction Processing System), MIS (Management Information System), DSS (Decision Support System), ESS (Expert Support System), ESS (Executive Support System), and Others. My lecturer went through to the main point of this lesson and elaborated all the concepts included in the updating information. As IS is the main point and the main coordinator of one particular organization used to run the system, there are two sub-coordinators which are Operations Support Systems and Management Support System.
     
       Besides learning these valuable things, my lecturer clarified and distinguished the functions of each system; additionally, he also opened up every component mentioned above to the details so that I could instantly catch up and understand the concepts of the lesson.
   
      After being so sensitive and clear about the procedures from the lesson, all the students were asked to form a group of three in order to answer the questions which would be given. Being one of the groups working and searching so hard on the second floor of the library, we, three people, were given three questions to be conducted. The first question was about How many kinds of Information System being used in AIU library?, the second one was What are the functions of Information System?, and the last one was required to give examples of IS in the library. It was like a tough task for me and my friends to do because we really didn't exactly know the IS in our library; moreover, we also didn't know clearly about how the systems worked. Nevertheless, we went to see Mr. Azhar to ask him to elaborate and clarify the systems being used in the library. The wonders and curiousness were eliminated when we got such a detail information about the materials of the system. First of all, our library is using VTLS which was the full-function library management, providing management of circulation, cataloging, serials, acquisitions, course reserves and more.

    VTLS has got various types of components; additionally, among those components and the most specific system which is being used in the library is ILS which contains Acquisition, Cataloging, Holdings, OPAC, Circulation, and Serial. These main points are very crucial to run the system processes in our library. Moreover, the services provided by our library make everyone convenient to consume and apply the self-learning.

Week 4


            Salam everybody..!! This was the fourth week, setting up on the10th of February,  for me who have been participating in the class. After three weeks ago, the lessons and processes of ICT had been continued to be explained. For this week, my lecture had indicated me about the IS, which meant Information system. Firstly, he provoked all students by asking some questions about IS and also reminded about the Data and Information which were in the first lesson because learning about IS would be related to Data and Information. Initially, he introduced some concepts abut system which referred to a set of components working together to achieve a common set of objectives. In this point, it was very crucial for me to get through to the main ideas of IS because if we directly got through to the objective was that it was the combination of Software, Hardware, Infrastructure and trained personnel organized to facilitate planning, control, coordination and decision making in an organization. It was very nice to know such an important point which I'd never known before because even I knew software, hardware, and the other structures of computer, I just know IS when I joined the class this week.
 
        Moreover, my lecturer also opened up my mind and clarified the differences between IS and IT because most of the students in the class got confused on these points. However, the thing became bright and conspicuous when we got a clear indication from our lecturer that IT, as we know, it was formed by the characteristics such as Software, Hardware, Database, Network, and Other Related Components, and all of these components were processed to build IS such as Payroll System, Customer Service System, Inventory System, and Marketing System. Additionally, my lecturer ushered more details about the characteristics of IS by presenting some indispensable points which were Procedure, Database, Hardware, Software, Telecommunication, and People. It was a little bit weird to familiar with People who got involved in IS; nonetheless, the roles of people were to Manage, Run, Program, and Maintain the system so that the system would be able to process and access the applications coherently. 

         After finishing the class, students were required to conduct as well as to write an essay about discussion on how does the organization use technology to accomplish its goal. Gradually, students had to do research in the library. My lecturer did like this was like to convey how students understood the concepts of the lesson so that students would find it easy and convenient to do the work. According to that work, I ultimately defined about the thing that I was supposed to write would be OPAC, an application software being used in AIU library, because based on what the topic was being discussed, it was supposed to be elaborated by identifying the Information System being used in a particular organization; hence, I chose OPAC in library as my own realization to raise and justify my understanding. I observed myself I have got through to a deep understanding that I've been dreaming, and this was what I obtained from week4.

Week 3


         Salam everyone..!!
            This is the third week which I've been participating in the class. The class was set up on the Friday the 3rd  of February, and for this week, students who were asked to form the group of 5 last week have shown up and presented the topics. Everyone was so seriously focusing on their work because the presentation was quite elaborated to understand, which the main idea was about the interrelation between IT Architecture and IT Infrastructure. As we started presenting in each group, I have realized that all of the groups clarified many different contents in terms of trying to make things coherently understood.

 

           After doing presentation, I did appreciate what I've done and what I've understood about that because I immediately got through to the main idea and was able to categorize the functions each of IT and the interrelation between both of them. Even all students seemed like were not able to explain professionally, we had caught up all the main concepts of the points and smoothly presented without any reluctance. All the groups  who would be presenting were finished successfully, additionally, my lecturer also covered everything being done in the class in order to enhance the self-learning of each student. He also provoked the learning thinking by adding questions to be searched more such as what are the differences between IT and ICT?
This was such a very crucial question for everyone to know because even we were intelligent on learning ICT, it was a brilliant to know clearly specific the differences between them.
           Just as we've done the presentation, new assignment had been assigned to all students once again. This new knowledgeable work was in charge of Being as a manager of an IT Department to identify the ITA being required in terms of being used in the department. I thought this work would be elaborated and complexional for students because it demanded us to come up with a significant idea in order to manage as well as coordinate    social network which played as an important role for business.

Week2, Session 1


        Salam Guys...!!!!
        After learning some components about Data and Information, in this second week on the 27th of January,  I also learned about the Qualities of valuable information. The structures of these components are orderly structured and understandable because it consists of accuracy, verification, time, organization, accessibility, uses, and cost-effectiveness.Moreover, I also learned about the Economics of Information whose the classifications are two: Reach and Richness. Actually, I wondered about these concepts; nonetheless, the explanation about Reach refers to the number of people, at work or at home sharing each other the information, and Richness comprises of three materials: bandwidth, customization, and interactivity, which are about the processes of inverting or converting the information to show to the audience.

       Beside these useful lessons, students were suggested to form a group of 5 and were also given the tasks to do. The task was about Data and Information Management. My group initially began coming up with some ideas about the topic. We realized that management is the organization; therefore, it had to be Data and Information Organization for showing to the audience. Everything had been well-done because we had come up that this Management could be prepared at any time and in any conditions depending on the types of management, for example, doing presentation, advertisement, banking and so on.

      As I've been describing about what I've been doing in the class, we gradually pursued learning more about The main Kinds of Information Technology, which are Architecture and Infrastructure. Both components, the details of IT, are very crucial to analyze and understand, it is because if there were no these materials, we'd not know the categories as well as the processes of working of IT. To be more serious, my lecturer coherently indicated all students about Globalization- globalization 1.0, globalization 2.0 (first half), globalization 2.0 (second half), globalization 3.0, and globalization 3.0 (continue).

       We finished our sessions, and my previous group which was formed of 5 and also the other groups were given another task which was to do the 10 minutes group presentation about

Week 1, Session 1



           Salam everyone..!!! Welcome to the second trimester learning reflections..!! This is my pleasure desire that I have a chance to share all of you about my experience as well as reflections on ICT learning in this trimester again.
       
         Anyway, learning ICT is the most interesting way of learning in AIU. As it is the first week of the ICT systematic education and also the beginning of the second trimester, my lecturer provided me and my friends some guideline about assessment that will being done; additionally, the first session that we've started in the class was on Friday-21st of January, which was about Data and Information. Actually, we didn't go any details about these points; however, we learned and categorized the differences between these points such as Data is an Input and Information is an Output. Students were also asked to fill up a form which was about the brief personal information of each. For that activity, we found the pairs to ask each other about the details and fill up on that paper.
 
      After we filled up that form and reported the details to the class, my lecturer asked us the questions as well as classified between Data and Information on the things that we'd filled up. Everyone and I got it really clear about the differences between these components.
